Been there, done that. There is a picture of Philip at the exact same sign on http://www.SailingOnTheHorizon.com. Takes me back to the 6 months or so we spent there in 2008/2009. Amazing place, amazing food, amazing wind, views, people, culture. Glad you are having a chance to experience it. The restaurant 96 Winery in Somerset (near Stellenbosch/Strand) is not to be missed!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff at Draegers in Menlo park a number of years ago. What a fateful meeting that was. Since I have put a 400+ wine cellar in my dining room area and proudly serve many of his wines. His creativeness is amazing, his wines are wonderful addition to my collection. I am proud to call he and Margie friends.

Just ripped through all your South Africa posts this evening, both for the sheer pleasure of it (and a great pleasure it was)—and because Stan and I head down there in two weeks! We have friends in Cape Town, and I have three things on my agenda: giraffes, penguins and wine. Make that four things, as we also want to stand on the southernmost point on the continent. Loved your descriptions, and I look forward to hearing about the wine country. But in due time. For now, just enjoy yourself! xoxo
